Either you got them on a good day, or CX has improved things in the past few months; service has always been great (and unobtrusive) but the "outstanding" food that I remember are stale sandwiches and cups of instant noodles. They did have a chef years ago when the lounge first opened, and I suppose the salads are OK, but it is certainly not Pen catered! Of course there is always Caviar House if you want good food.
