I'm going to be 2 segments short of AC-P next year. I know, it's not elite or super elite but it gets me some benefits.

I have a trip planned for late October, YQR-YYZ. I've explored the idea of adding segments via connections but the scheduling is not very convenient.

I'm pondering doing a day trip somewhere interesting. Doing it ex-YQR means doing it on the weekend and the fares are not likely to be great. However, I could do such a trip on November 1 ex-YYZ/YTO, or I could do a Saturday night one-way on November 5, and return to YQR November 6 via YYZ (or via some other route that gets me to YQR).

I was thinking an afternoon in Quebec City or Montreal might be fun but the Tango Plus fares aren't that attractive. I'm guessing a US destination might be the easiest way to get a cheap pair of status segments.

Any suggestions aside from the obvious? The easiest options would be ORD or EWR but I'm wondering if I can do better on the fares than I'm seeing. I'm easy to please so any destination with convenient scheduling will work for me.
