Are you by any chance the same Person that already had the problem with the connecting flight? Anyway -and that might not be helpful for you and I don't mean this as an offence- it shows that booking onto the same PNR can help reduce the hassle.
Equally - I mean no offence but that is very fatalistic, trusting and optimistic of you. In my book, ignoring an early warning when one is kindly offered doesn't seem to be traditional FT'er behaviour!

If I were one of the five people traveling from Oz to blighty and back again in F then I'd want this problem sorted today and not leave it to checkin in the hope that one of my 5 wasn't the one bounced in what is a very small cabin.

But then I'm a pessimist and hate dissapointments.
