Haha, thanks guys. I'm flying on a K+ fare, that's right, so award upgrade is my back-up. I am plying the EWR-SLC-LAS route instead of the JFK direct (which I know tends to fill up with those higher-up elite as well).

Well, miles maniac here, strange routes are quite par for the course. I am doing in a single day BNA-ATL-RDU-ATL-LGA for only about 130 on 18 Nov. I had to get to New York anyway for a student conference, might as well have some fun along the way!

And last question, I managed to match my A3 Gold for DJ Gold this week. Do you think I could so far as grace the skyclub without exhausting my supply of passes? In fact, my card is not in my hand yet, do you think a printout would suffice?
