SARS will almost certainly never be eradicated - flu hasn't been, West Nile virus hasn't been (and I think that killed more people in NY State alone last year than SARS has in HK).

But the media will lose interest and move on as they do. Then we can all get back to normal and SARS will continue to be just one of the very small background risks in life (as it alwasys has been).
