I also happened to fly to LGA yesterday and was provided with full access to the MLL in YYZ and the Continental lounge at LGA even though I don't have the new AP card. Boarding pass showing the "*E" was enough to get in -- although, they also asked me to verbally tell them my AP number.
Anyone have any idea if this will work in non-MLLs? I have likewise just made *E/Star Alliance Gold and will be flying SAN-SFO return next weekend and so am wondering if I can print off something that will get me into RCCs or their counterparts..
