The fact that the signs actually say "Trains to City" took some of the wind out of my Chicago sails, and we excuse people who aren't locals...but we'd never use the phrase "El Train". It's either "the train" or "the EL" or less frequently "the subway".
I must really be old because I still think of it as the Logan Square or Jefferson Park line!
