Although I had been to Paris before I hadn't been up the Eiffel Tower until a few years ago - I was there overnight on business, and went up on a pleasant August evening, still in suit and stilletto heels (not recommended btw!) with a half-bottle of red, a demi baguette, and a piece of smelly cheese to munch for supper at the top, and I loved it! It was also bigger than I expected / seemed from a distance. Colourwise, I guess I knew what colour it was in advance - not sure how it could really be anything but.
