Good Evening,
I have a friend that is traveling on business every week. She booked her stay at a Marriott and is currently enrolled in the Platinum challenge so she has Platinum status. The hotel check-in time is 3:00 PM. She flew in this morning and went straight to the client and was just checking in now approximately 6 hours past the normal check-in time. She was informed that the hotel was overbooked. They put her in their "Parlor" room and rolled in a cot. Then her colleague went to check-in and the same thing happened. Now she is sharing the 'Parlor' room!
My questions are:
1. How strict is check-in time? Should someone call and let them know they will be late? Can you check-in via phone?
2. Is she entitled to the Guarantee (
http://www.marriott.com/rewards/memb...s/guarantee.mi) even though she is doing a challenge?
I am a bit worried as I will be traveling to the same hotel every week like her starting Monday. I am also a part of the Platinum challenge and want to minimize my chances of an overbooking.
