Make sure that you do the UA/CO status match first (I just spent 20 minutes on the phone looking at doing the same thing). The conformation e-mail I got back said it should take 7-10 days for the CO status to show up (as a 1K, CO will give me Platinum).

As an FYI, I am doing LAX>CLE on a Z fare, getting 150% EQM, & then
bought up triple miles & another 10,400 EQM miles. Looks like a good deal to me...
