It's the upgrade in status I am after more than anything. It used to be fairly easy to get upgraded on the flights I took as a platnium on DL. A lot of my flights are short trips (DTW/LGA) which are hard to get a lot of miles on to get to PM status on BIS miles alone.
So essentially, you're not doing anything with your miles plus you are paying $150 for the card, so you are throwing away the equivalent of $850 just to get upgrades? First class isn't that nice...especially if you are only flying short distances.
Just curious as to how you can redeem miles on a mileage run?????? The purpose of a MR is to get miles towards elite status which you can't do redeeming miles
In the example I gave, if you were to earn "thank you" points with Citibank, you would be using your points ("miles") to book MR flights that you would be able to earn MQM and RDM's, versus Deltas lackluster "Pay With Miles" that earns neither.
