Out of BNA it isn't an issue since it's one common security area if you are on WN and want to use the SC there. At MSY I am not sure if TSA would let you in the D concourse for the SC or not if you are on Southwest, they have allowed me in before when my flight was out of Gate C, but I was on Delta in those cases.
Don't know about MSY. Perhaps someone who flies through MSY frequently could comment but I know people on FT have commented in the past that they were able to get through security to the SC if they told TSA they were going to a lounge, so I have to assume it's a possibility.
You're correct, in BNA, the SC is in the common area, which is nice. See folks in the BNA SC on occasion with Southwest BPs.
