As far as the Bagel Toppers being "that good" ? Well, everyone's tastes are different. To myself, anything that can be consumed with one hand standing over a trash can or kitchen sink is "good". I suppose part of the appeal of the bagel topper is its hangover curing ability in addition to the qualities mentioned above. Not that I use it for medicinal purposes all that often, just that I recall this quality in a time of ailment. The other reason for wanting them I suppose is the simple fact that I cannot have them.
