Cannot stand negative reports when they are unnescessary.
We returned to the now Rome Cavalieri, Wardorf Astoria Hotel, in September. It was the Hilton (but the group is the same).
With the exceptions of reasons of health, we have been going there for over 20 years on an annual basis. We have watched over time this hotel in the last 15 years, continuously upgrade itself to a level of the highest quality. 5* for sure, 6* well it must be very very close.
The service is superb, the comfort sublime, the views fo the city and the Vatican breathtaking. The rooms are spacious and one has all the benefits of a city hotel with resort facilities. Dining a joy, from the 3* Michelin restaurant on the rooftop, to dining by the pool in sublime summer evenings, to breakfast, buffet style and plentiful.
My wife and I always say that if you return, year on year to an hotel, the staff remain, some in their positions, others promoted, but all there, recognizing you, pampering you, then that says much for the hotel.
I know not of a better Hilton, and better hotels there may be, but they are few.
