Can I 'no-show' for a flight?

First off--excited to find this forum! Traveling more and more and I'm sure I'll find valuable information here.

I found a similar thread about no-showing for a flight but it didn't answer my question, which is...

Can I no-show for my return flight and be OK to fly the next day on the same airline with a one-way ticket home? Issue is that cost of original return flight is less than the cancellation fee. I've already booked the one-way ticket and would rather just lose the money ($50) on the original return flight than have to pay airline additional $25 to cover cancellation fee total of $75.

Last thing I want to do is show up the following day and not be allowed to fly on my one-way ticket (which was booked on points).

Any insight?!
*Cheers!
