No, you don't have to get rent a car. It's too expensive. Besides, I think you can take on El train from ORD airport to downtown Chicago. Because it was too many rush hours traffic. You will stuck on the expressway. It will take an hours to get in downtown Chicago. You can take on Blue Line train to Clark/Lake Station. If you want to pay $14.00 for 3-days pass. You have to pay at vending machine near the station.
