This happens every time you do the check-in/MMB upgrades. It's a fault with their systems and will be resolved by a quick call to customer service who will make sure the correct tier points and miles (for W fare) post.
So it bl**dy well is still a bug - and has been for at least 4 years 6 months now. One wonders how long it should take to fix these sort of things
