MIA AA Special - Untrained agents and rude supervisors
Had a horrible experience at MIA Airport. I am a PLAT so am allowed to stand by for an earlier domestic flight. My flight was from MIA to RDU today. I wanted to standby for an earlier flight.
Called the AA Plat desk and was adviced there are seats but I need to be at airport counter to make the change - could not be done on the phone. Which was fine! BTW, I got connected to Raleigh customer service center - kindest people and most helpful.
BUT MIA is a different story.
An agent 'dilly/dollied' with my reservations for about 15 minutes - agent initials T.Y. (female agent). Then said cannot be done, I need to pay $50 to change it. I told her that I just wanted to stand by for earlier fllight. For the life of me, she could not figure how to do this. She was working the Business Class/Priority access line too. I know it was early in the morning but then again...
I asked the agent besides her to help T.Y. The agent gave me a look like - I am not responsible for this un-trained, ill-mannered agent. So I asked for a supervisor.
T.Y. went in the back and came back after 10 minutes and said supervisor will not be available for 15 minutes. 10 minutes later, supervisor comes storlling in - I kid you not, she was taking her sweet time. He initials S.N. (I am not putting any names here if someone from AA wants to contact me, I will gladly provide names of these two un-trained and rude agent/supervisor duo).
She rudley stated the same so I gave in and got a boarding pass for me original flight.
I have not problems with rules but I do have a concern when agents do not know what they are doing and supervisor are not interested in helping. I know their jobs are protected by the union but for crying out loud - take a minute and figure out how to solve a problem.
If you are in and out of MIA - please avoid Agent T.Y. and supervisor S.N.
