Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to post what happened while at TPE. My flight arrived at 06h15 into TPE. The transfer desk for UA was closed.

I then cleared security and went upstairs to the departure area. Security did not ask for any boarding pass and if they did I would have shown my online check-in document that indicated that I had checked in, provided my seat number for the TPE-NRT flight.

I then went to the SQ lounge, which is UA's contract lounge in TPE. The lady at SQ was very helpful and said she would call down to UA in an hours time when check-in was to open. ^ About an hour later someone from UA met me in the lounge. ^^ He took our passports and came back to us with our boarding passes. ^^^

The lady at SQ was great and very helpful to make all this happen.

What I was planning to do was to just go to the gate prior to the flight had we not received our boarding passes. If security did not allow us to move up to the departures level at TPE we would have cleared immigration as sitting in the transfer desk area for 2 hours was not high on my list.
