Yes, but that same benefit is also a Preferred Plus benefit. Some hotels may give Golds better upgrades than they give Preferred Plus members, but the benefit is identical (on paper).
I did think of one other Preferred Plus v. Gold benefit: a lower minimum point-to-mile transfer.
I wasn't aware that "enhanced rooms" was a benefit of PP. Don't think they advertise that on SPG.com.
