The way I've been told by both TSA and CATSA is to put the exempt LGA next to the freedom baggie or otherwise in a way that makes it obvious.

The thing about countries outside the US and Canada (which have very similar laws regarding medical privacy) is that you may have to carry a note/prescription from your doctor. I carry my prescription from my doctor for my prescription tooth gel at all times, but will never, ever show it to the TSA or CATSA-contracted screeners. I actually once did show it to the CATSA-contracted screeners, before knowing the actual rule, and had one claim my script was "out of date" and, despite having it pass the ETD swab, had it stolen with the help of the Peel Regional Police. To their credit, CATSA in Ottawa did a very good job investigating and following up.
