The prior responses are good, and I would simply add that there is only ONE way to get to/from the B concourse, the aforementioned (short) tunnel.

Given that I would have to wait for the tram to arrive, then it will make stops along the way, would it be quicker to walk the C concourse? (I can walk fast.)
Again the prior responses are good. I would simply add that the C tram operates every 3-4 minutes or so. On average, folks wait two minutes for the next tram. The C tram has three stations:

1) C27/B/A
2) C11-12/Delta C SkyClub/third floor walkway to high G gates
3) C1/walk through Airport Mall to E/F/low G gates

As others have observed, the distance the C tram travels is a full 1/2 mile. If the tram is down - after 10 pm or mechanical (rare) - there are moving walkways.
