The Gardaí are quite relaxed about admitting people, as a general rule.

Everyone admitted to the UK who is not an EU national is supposed to be given a certain code, relating to their immigration status. The normal one for visitors is 5N, but there are others. If it wasn't stamped, she may have been writing it on, sloppily.
