really appreciate that.
Another quick question though. What about the 25,000 bonus miles? lol. Will i be eligible for that? That's the whole goal

hehe
You should try searching the thread a bit for these types of questions first, but at any rate, the short answer is no, you can not get the bonus miles on a conversion. However, if you talk to the right people, and it's properly noted in your account, you can get those miles.
YMMV -- Good luck

I converted through retentions, since I've found they are more knowledgeable and have a larger bag of 'tools' available than front-line CSRs. Thus I was promised that the 25,000 mile sign up bonus will also be awarded as per the new card offer (spending $1000 on purchases within the first 4 months). He made notes on my account in case the bonus didn't automatically apply, and gave his full name and ID number, and all the information I needed to speak with him directly again if this didn't work as promised.
The thing now is, I have a bunch of flights before the beginning of November. I kind of figure I could buy an AC pass and then get a pro-rated refund once the card arrives. Citi rep also promised to help out with that if there was some issue, though wouldn't hurt to see what AA will do when I arrive at the lounge for my first flight (assuming you can buy the annual passes there).
