That's surprising, to think of all the effort that went into bringing a new product to the US, you'd think that they'd choose a good one, but maybe because it's new and people don't know any better it won't really have an adverse effect. It probably it also has to do with price point, I don't know how much these other cachacas cost, but Leblon sells between $20 and $30 in NY.

Nevetheless, Leblon is campaigning to "Legalize Cachaca" here in the US, where it is classified as "Brazilian Rum". The difference was not evident to me until I was told that before Tequila become a legal classification, it was "Mexican Whisky".
