I am not a regular Amtrak user.

I actually have several questions. My family and I are taking the Empire Service from NYP to ALB on Oct 7. Business Class option is sold out so I am booking Coach. Is there a big difference in seats? I thought it's not too bad with the trip being only 2.5 hours. Why would Business Class sell out ahead of Coach?

Can you sit anywhere on the train? Where do you put your luggage? I know you cannot check in bags, so we will be hauling our medium sized bags.

My parents are coming in from Newark Penn station on another train and meeting us at NYP. If they are late and we miss our Empire Service train, can we get on to the next one on the same tickets? Or do I return to the window and get them reissued? Do the trains ever get fully sold out?
