I think I read your plans somewhere else on the board. You are booking an AA reward with LAN and paying your connection yourself right?

So your ride from MIA to SCL and your ride from ATL to MIA are not on the same tickets right?

I think this is not technically an interline, and although DL might offer to check your bags through to SCL with LAN, I personally wouldn't trust LAN to receive your bags in MIA and make sure they get on the right flight.

LAN loses your bags and not only do you get sold down the river but you have the added possibility of LAN blaming Delta for your loss. For the sake of 20 minutes I would be inclined to claim your bags in MIA and check them back in with LAN
