East Coast (US) to Paris ... advice appreciated!
Hello all, and thanks in advance for your opinion!
I will be booking two tickets to Paris soon using FF miles (for next year - waiting for the dates to open up in about a month). Going to take my wife and travel around France for 2-3 weeks.
I have enough miles for two first class or envoy tickets, so my question is this:
With flexibility to fly out of EWR, JFK or PHL (or others, such as a first connecting flight to CLT or IAD), does anyone have any experience on what flight/aircraft/city combination results in the best "luxury" experience you've enjoyed going to Paris from such origins? It looks like I could fairly easily book on a A330-200 (332) in the Envoy Suites from PHL or CLT to CDG ... are these seats good enough that I should stop searching for other options?
To throw another monkey-wrench into the question, I could always use another Star Alliance carrier if it meant getting a true first class seat experience on another airline (perhaps Austrian or Lufthansa?). Also, I have enough AmEx points to use their award carriers (such as British Airways or Air France?).
Don't mean to sound too choosy ... I and my wife have just found that scoring a great first class seat is almost as good as the trip itself, and we get a kick out of researching a memorable flight experience. (Best flight segment ever scored was true first class on a 747 Thai flight from NRT to BKK - made the whole trip!)
Thanks for any suggestions!
