This is not true. You do not have to fly to get EQMs. But I will not belabor this point here. You can buy EQMs on CO.

Would recommend a flight AUS-IAH-XXX. AUS-IAH will give 1000 EQMs right there, and the XXX can be anywhere 750 miles or so away. Puts you within a very very quick MR territory.
