We need to make reservations for travel for a family of 4. Two adults, a 3 year old and 1 year old. All 4 will be departing on the same date. However the return flight would be different. 1 adult coming back earlier while the other adult and children flying at a later date with a friend.
My question is what is the best way to reserve the tickets for the family? Should I be concerned about making multiple reservations ? My concern is not having seats together, boarding pass for lap child etc... (we are thinking of flying with lap child but may decide to get a seat for the 1 year old). The flight would be to Asia so it's potentially a 30 hour travel time.
Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure what you are asking for help with. I would say go ahead and make two separate reservations, one for the one adult and the other for the rest. You could then call the airline and get them to link the reservation numbers. Online you should be able to choose seats together if you do it one after the other.
A piece of advice. For a 30-hour journey I would book a seat for the 1-year old, even if it is not necessary. You will be glad for the extra room.
