First first and first disappointment - no vegetarian main course
I am approaching my first F flights with BA. I received the onboard menus from You First today.
Outbound LHR-LAS main course options are beef, trout, lamb or chicken. Return LAS-LHR options are beef, halibut, chicken or salmon.
What does a vegetarian do? That is a rhetoric question. I know the answers:
1. Order one of the vegetarian special meals. That means I get the standard stuff served in all classes. Hardly a First dining experience.
2. Beg to steal a veggie main course from CW. Past experience indicates that the veggie option in CW is not to be fought for.
3. Request a veggie special meal, 'mix and match' with other options from the menu. Messy.
4. Replace the main course with the veggie bistro option. Outbound and return are boring pasta options with the macaroni cheese offering LHR-LAS especially uninspiring.
5. Just give up on the main course. Make a meal from starters, desserts and cheeses.
I will go with option 5. I know that I can eat in the CCR and that I am not going to starve. It's the principle really with BA forcing vegetarians to work out how they can get a decent meal while flying First. Surely they could manage one veggie option on the menu alongside the meat and fish.
