Actually, I am talking about the stay being repriced to the $289 for the Thursday night only stay---as is in the rate rules. AND as I was told would happen to me on one occasion when I had to leave early. I simply auto-checked out the next day.
Did you offer to pay for both nights when you tried to check out?
HCT would be closer to you prepaying for the two nights of the hotel room and only using one night so you could get the lower rate. You did end up not spending the second night in the hotel. So the hotel did not charge you a penalty because you booked the room and paid for it but were not in your room. So if that was ok then why is HCT not ok where you have paid for the service but chosen not to use part of the service based on your convenience?
