Actually there are quite a few excellent restos in those other cuisines. It's just the Canto restos greatly outnumber them.

While I'm on the subject, I went to Kirin downtown last week. In the past, it was one of the better Northern/Sichan restos in Vancouver. Anyways, I'm sad to report it's gone significantly downhill. The wait staff are far less "trained" than in years past and the food is definitely a step down. The clientele seems to be dominated by mainlander tourists with a few caucasion folks thrown in. I definitely will not be returning.
