But if I were a 2P and looking to requalify again as a 2P, me, personally, I'd be depressed. I'd be wondering what the point was to my $$$ spent with UA this year, why didn't I invest in a different airline? Although realistically, would it actually be much different elsewhere? More likely I, too, would have become a Kayaker.
I'm wondering that too. Unless I'm subjected to the Fly America Act as a contractor (don't know that I am), I'm going to be largely looking at foreign carriers, or at least code shares on foreign metal.
Just looked at what US had to offer for an FFP. Whoever would have thought US's would end up being BETTER, especially for lower levels? Plus no StarNet blocking. Sad that it's easier to buy status on US than it is to earn it on UA now.
Seriously, this has me thinking about my travel strategies for next year a lot. Barring some long haul trips in C next year, I don't see the point in even trying next year.
Personally? I may be a Kayaker too. Dump all but 1 UA card (have 3, 2 UA, 1 CO) to keep my 500k miles, but outside of that ... meh.
