AA's TPE-SJC route was quite successful when it lasted. Most of the people I know in Taiwan including myself would prefer TPE-SJC over TPE-HKG-SFO anytime. SJC is much closer to the Taiwanese business interests in the valley. I personally expect the AA/BR codeshare to be revived rather than a CX flight HKG-TPE-SJC. But it would sure be great. When AA launched the route first, they had a great double miles promotion!
