Rant redux

These studies absolutely crack me up (or make me cry for those who don't spend time to dig deeper than the headline). How is it that someone could extrapolate that redemption directly on DL metal makes DL miles worthless.

If someone wants to redeem their DL "pesos" on DL metal more power to them - you'll never see me doing it and I hope most who find their way to FT wouldn't either. Would you redeem UA on UA? What about AA on AA - really you would - then you're doing something wrong.

When I want to go to Orlando or Vegas I buy a $250 ticket.

When I want to redeem miles - I want to redeem for Int'l Premium cabin on fantastic partner airlines to exotic places that I could never afford to pay out of pocket for.

How about VA, MH, KE, IT, TN or 9W. How about easy availability (or easier than any other US award program) to Tahiti, Australia, Seychelles, Mauritius, or the Maldives. How about nearly unlimited TATL availability from the US East to Europe in J using AF.

I'm sure I'm wrong - Southwest is the Best, US Air is the worst because the study says it so it must be FACT.....

EXCEPT US AIR is actually one of the Best programs to have miles in since you can redeem them on +/- 27 different airlines (some of them the World's finest) and they virtually have no rules.

and with Southwest? .... well there is unlimited availability from OAK to RNO.
