For planespotters, this is how you tell if a CX 747-400 is fitted with the new J class. If you count the number of windows from Door 1 to Door 2, and if there are 9 windows, then that aircraft has the new J class.

If the window count =10, then it is the old business class and hence it is a 74B or 74J.

I hope this helps those who are wondering which aircrafts are fitted with the NBC. If you want to know the aircraft registrations, then you can go to airliners.net and search pictures of the latest CX 747-400 posting and count the windows.
