u r right, and the agent is wrong.
in fact on the ticket coupon, u sd be able to see the date of validity/expiration
under "invalid after" -- should bot have any ambiguity

unless u r saying the ticket was issued to fly on Jan/15 but you changed the start date in the airport when u checked in on feb/5.
then it becomes complicated
