Delta agents have a great system that stays on the screen at all times.. It shows all connections.. The ETA, whether the plane is on approach, landing, landed, or at the gate, whether the delay is getting better or worse, etc. That being said, gates close 10 minutes prior to departure. It's not possible to close out a flight, run down the jetbridge, close the aircraft door with permission, pull the jetbridge back, unchock the plane, and push it back, in 59 seconds. Thats why gates close 10 minutes prior to departure.
