No.

The two-engine aircraft are required to fly with one engine in-operative at the most critical phase of flight (V-1 decision speed on the take-off role). The engines are therefore each completely overpowered.

No such requirement exists for a four engine aircraft (the joke amongst A340 critics is that it doesn't fly very well with all four engines operating).

Can a 747 fly with two engines in-operative? Depends on how you define fly. It won't just drop out of the sky. Will it take off fully-loaded with two engines out for the entire take-off run? Nope.
