This flight nets about 11k. I'd be willing to spend upto about $1600, if i could turn this into a 20k flight to retain my status.

Try to at least learn the codes when you're on FT. It can get very confusing to us who're trying to figure out what you want to do...

Note that not all CA flights earns 100% miles on Mileage Plus. That make very well jack up the price. Your above routing would require the services of a local Taiwanese TA as there are no published fares for this... Chances are that you CANNOT add on an internal sector between PVG and PEK on a through fare and that it will count as a sector fare ...

Your above routing will net you 12091 miles round trip.

If you take TG, and there will be a fare for them on their website or through zuji.tw, TPE-BKK-MEL-BKK-TPE, you will earn 12184 miles. And chances are that the fare will be lower than CA! Hey, even SQ will be cheaper than CA ! SQ should net you 11480 miles.

I'm not sure what websites your looking on because the air china flights are a 1/3 of the price of TG and SQ flights
