Retroactive mileage credit

So apparently it's possible to claim missing miles for a flight up to 6 months after the flight.

Now if that claim happened to be done in the following calendar year, would Flying Blue credit the miles as of the date of the flight, or as of the date of the delayed credit?

The former would enable someone to maintain / increase status "a posteriori", despite the reset of qualifying miles on Jan 1st.

Interestingly, the latter would enable someone who's reached platinum to "save" his qualifying miles until the following year.

Any thoughts / experiences?
