Do you think OneWorld should organise something like this - or does it already?
The Wall Street Journal reports on the third 'Mega Do', an annual gathering of elite-level frequent flyers on airlines that are part of the Star Alliance network, organised by online community Milepoint.com. The group of 161 passengers spent $130,000 chartering a Boeing 737 and covering the cost of crew, fuel and inflight service for two days, flying to Chicago, Detroit and Montreal and meeting airline, hotel and aircraft manufacturing executives, as well as pilots, mechanics and air traffic controllers. The idea is to put across their wishes to industry executives who travel on the flight with them. Topping the list was space - more legroom, an empty middle seat and affordable upgrades to first class - as well as priority check-in and security lines, early boarding so there is overhead bin space for bags, waivers for baggage fees and plentiful opportunities for upgrades.
