You can find a more thorough review on MP, including a picture of the waffles with bonus worm that I got served in the Club Lounge.

I had two PB stays here in late August and early September. A total of 11 nights. I had another 2 weeks booked, but canceled after a number of problems here.
On the first stay they didn't have the reservation in my name, but in a family members that I had booked a couple of nights for the end of September in, just in case I needed it. I have no idea how they changed the info on this reservation, as it showed up fine on my online IHG reservations.
It took 30 minutes to straighten out. Since it was an award stay, I wasn't expecting a free minibar, but had been told by another RA who had stayed recently that you could take the club or suite upgrade. I opted for the club. I had to show my RA card, and wait, and wait, and wait until they had it straightened out.
Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
No
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked a Premier room for 5k per night PB. Got the same.
How is the exec. lounge?
The lounge is usually good. I found that they did not run out of food as often as my last visit. Some nights had better hot food selection than others. Liked the grilled salmon and Chicken Tika quite a bit.
During the end of Ramadan, they let you have breakfast in the Java restaurant, and for the happy hour time, they let you order off a special appetizer menus. Unlike the December menus that gave you full sized portions, these were pretty small.
My biggest problem with the lounge that on my last day, I got there a few minutes
before breakfast was to end, because my keycard was not working for the club floor, and had to detour to the lobby. So they had already cleared half of the buffet. We grabbed what we could and ordered stuff off the hot menu.
I took 15 minutes for the eggs to come, and 30 minutes for the waffles. And then the waffle plate had a live worm on it! Unbelievable.
What was good and what was bad?
Good: Free lounge access on a PB stay is good.
Bad: Worm for breakfast. Hassles checking in, wrong name on reservation. No Fruit/water in room for first day. Welcome gift only on first stay. Told no free internet, even though room booked had it included.
On second stay, check-in went better, and I said we'd like club access instead of the suite. The next day the card did not work for the club floor. Went down to the lobby, and the desk agent adamantly refused that we got club access on an a award stay. I calmly explained the option of suite upgrade/club access. She checked on the phone, and again refused it. I explained we had stayed just one week before and had gotten it, and asked to speak to a manager. A trip in the back room, and another call and finally she comes back and apologizes, she said she wasn't informed. 20 minutes wasted, and we barely make it to breakfast.
Late in this stay, I was called by FD Manager and told that we'd need to move. Said we'd get a suite with Kitchen. Sounded nice, as I've never been in a room with a kitchen here. Front desk/Club lounge called about 4 times to tell us the room was ready the next day, including an hour before our scheduled wake up call! Then the room was just the standard Jr Suite. AC did not work right. Room was hot until the early morning. Reported it, and they said nothing wrong with it. The coldest it would get during the day was 28-29c. Seemed like the AC was the same as a standard room, and perhaps not geared for the hot corner room we were in.
Value for money
It's not bad for a 5k PB night. However, you seem to have to fight to get the benefits you're due. I get really tired of having to ask for every single thing.
Final thoughts
I've become fed up with this location. Every single time I have problems, with being charged for the internet when it should be free, although internet bill voided when pointed out, not getting welcome gifts half the time. The worm incident was also pretty bad.
The minibar here has also been drastically reduced in the alcohol category. Seems like only beer in here now. Down from the 10-12 mini bottles they had a year ago.
The lounge staff is hit or miss. Angeline and the male server are good. Others routinely forget stuff, especially if you order a few drinks for your table, you maybe get 2, and usually not like you wanted it.
