I would select SIN for both transit or first time stopover.
Singapore is like "Asia for beginners" great city, people, food & airport.
Bangers is also very good & worthy of a stopover for your second trip.
If you prefer the big bird (747) go trough Bangers - there is something very special about that plane.

) .... our next trip has a week stopover in SIN both out
and back .... with 6 days in SYD in between.
Shame about SYD ... but we felt we should make the annual pilgrimage with my cousin being an ex-GovGen (yes really - once had to explain to my Aunt who didn't understand these things that he "was the Queen" (
"he can't be the Queen - the Queen has a bag" ) when she told me that I had to go and stay -
) .... BKK is for some ... SIN is good enough for me.
