Amtrak has changed everything on the Late Shore limited, departure times, transit times and including lengthening the amount of time for the Journey. CSX just seems to be non cooperative and Amtrak apparently is not willing to go after CSX. I have been on the train when it was 23 hours late and we had no breakdowns or accidents enroute just sat on sidings for long periods. This is the reason I really think it is the worst train in the Amtrak system and advise everyone against taking it. I remember an instance when a group from Indiana was on the train due to arrive in Chicago around 10:00 AM they going to a Cubs game in Chicago that started At 1 or 1:30 PM. We left their town Indiana about one hour late and arrived in Chicago to late for them to see the game.
another time I was on the train with an Amish family going to a wedding in Ohio. The train arrived in Cleveland 8 hours late and they were going to miss the wedding. I had never heard an Amish man get mad before that time. I learned some interesting Pennsylvania Dutch words I wish I knew what the meant but they conveyed the message
