They've been promoting the heck out of the Presidential Platinum Card from Chase in all of the Continental President's Clubs lately. Maybe that's the high-end card you're referring to. I was considering the switch from Amex Platinum and Amex (after some poking and prodding on my part) just happened to offer me a 1-year USAir Club membership so I may access all CO/UA/US lounges.

There's some serious competition going on right now, a great time for consumers to take advantage. Amex is willing to go the distance to keep good customers.
