So I have been wondering this for a little while now. I was prompted to post this by a banner ad I saw at the top of this page, which said, "In 15 days, we'll have benefits your American Express Platinum Card won't". The link is to the Chase OnePass MasterCard.

Why would they continue to market this card? (I assume the "15 days" reference is to the fact that CO will stop being an Amex MR transfer/lounge access partner after 9/30.) I keep getting e-mails telling me to link my OnePass and UMP accounts and that MP is going to be the consolidated program. So why are they still trying to sell "OnePass" products? The only possible use for this I can think of is to get a signup bonus if, like me, you have a United card, but what do
they get out of it? Am I missing something? Is there some reason, other than signup bonuses, to have CO AND UA cards?
