I also like the J.W. Marriott and agree that for vacation purposes is probably the best choice (if price is less important) as it across the street from Galleria and many good restaurants are close by.
I stay frequently at the Marriott Energy Corridor and while it is new and a well run property, it is a little far away for vacation purposes.
