I wonder if anyone got a cockpit visit
during take off or landing at the old
HK Kai Tak Airport at night?

I was fortunate enough to be in the cockpit on one of the last flight into Kai Tak on the night of 5th July 1998 (the last day of operations at KT). They also used a rather unusual approach (for night operations at least) which brought the aircraft over the south of Lamma Island and then a continuous visual right hand turn over Stonecutters Island/ north Kowloon/ Chequerboard/ rwy 13, it was most dramatic! Apparantly they only allow this approach for day flights but since it was the last day, they decided to let the pilots have some fun!
All the flashlights from the cameras near the airport was fascinating as well!
